Der Preis für ein Fass Öl der Nordsee Sorte Brent ist in diesem Jahr bereits um 50 Prozent gestiegen. Das verteuert das Autofahren genauso wie die Produktion in der Industrie. Eine Alternative: Energie aus Sonnenlicht nutzen. Das tun inzwischen viele -- und davon profitieren die deutschen Solarfirmen. In den vergangenen drei Jahren haben sie ihren Umsatz im Ausland verfünffacht - gut eine Milliarde Euro erwirtschaftete die Branche dort 2006. Im Visier haben die deutschen Photovoltaik-Unternehmen den europäischen Binnenmarkt. Aber auch in den USA und Asien expandieren sie kräftig. Der Verband der Solarwirtschaft rechnet damit, dass der weltweite Photovoltaikmarkt jedes Jahr um 20 Prozent wächst -- und das in den nächsten 15 Jahren. Dadurch entstehen Arbeitsplätze vor allem in Deutschland. Hier werden die Anlagen weiter entwickelt und gebaut. Ein Beispiel ist der Solar- und Photovoltaikhersteller Solon in Berlin. --- Heizen und Lüften mit der Sonne --- Aus Solarzellen gewonnener Strom treibt einen Ventilator an, der gefilterte Außenluft durch einen wärmegedämmten Luftkollektor aus Aluminium saugt. Die frische Luft wird dabei aufgeheizt und anschließend über ein Rohrsystem im Haus verteilt. Gemäß diesem Funktionsprinzip arbeiten Twinsolar-Kollektoren von Grammer Solar aus Amberg vollkommen selbsttätig: Schon bei bedecktem Himmel läuft das System zuverlässig an. Solarthermie und Stirling

This is a larger Stirling engine that has a 12v DC Permanent Magnet motor operating fixed as the flywheel bearing. It produces 15 Volt max with NO LOAD. This setup as is produces about 15 watts. The heat sink is a water cooled tank that is a bit short for the displacement piston but does work. I will be adding some heat sinks soon and testing it with the 56 inch dish and a Fresnel Lens. The motor/generator has an additional pulley that the other engine I have may be tied to. The water can be fed continuously or as a tank.

Yingli is a Chinese PV manufacturer that has been manufacturing solar panels since 1998. Their manufacturing currently encompasses ingots to wafer cells and modules, and in October, they plan to begin manufacturing the silicon used in their PV panels. This will make them the most vertically integrated manufacturer in the world. In addition, manufacturing all these parts will result in more efficient cost control in production, and hence cost savings which can be passed on to the end consumer. Yingli is currently the sixth largest manufacturers of PV panels in the world, and they have plans to increase their current 600 megawatts capacity to 900 - 1400 megawatts by the end of 2010. Yingli's manufacturing plant is in China, and they have two branch offices in the United States focusing on customer service and marketing. Yingli is looking into the possibility of moving it module manufacturing plants to the U.S. As for warranties, Yingli guarantees that their PV panels will function at 80% efficiency after 25 years. And when it comes to corporate sustainability, Yingli offers recycle services for clients that decide they want to dispose of their solar panels. In addition, they have constructed industry parks around their manufacturing plants. Currently, Yingli has a partnership with one distributor, DC power systems, and as demand rises for their panels in the U.S., the number of distributors will increase. Furthermore, Yingli is currently undertaking research with PANDA cells which is aimed at increasing the efficiency of their monocrystalline and polycrystalline cells.
